News / Gala concert at the Rudolfinum in Prague to support cancer treatment for children

World-renowned Czech baritone Filip Bandžak and famous Kazakh soprano Nurzhamal Usenbayeva devoted their performances on 4th November 2013 to support treatment of cancer in children. The Gala concert in Dvořák Hall, Rudolfinum came to a spectacular end with both opera singers receiving the most prestigious award for opera in the European Union “The Golden Europea“. With the exception of Spanish tenor Plácido Domingo, Maestro Filip Bandžak and Nurzhamal Usenbayeva  are the only holders of this highest award by European Union of Arts in operatic singing.

For this great achievement, they received a standing ovation from the audience, which contained international patrons of arts, ambassadors and members of diplomatic corps of more than forty states from around the world.
